    Role Overview

    The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for defining, developing, and executing Brother Mobile Solutions' go-to-market strategy across the U.S. Public Sector and Enterprise verticals including Transportation & Logistics, Retail, and Field Mobility. This role drives new business development, recruits and enables strategic channel partners and ISVs, and cultivates high-value end-user relationships. The position requires both the development of strong partner ecosystems and direct pursuit of major accounts, ensuring revenue growth, market expansion, and solution adoption. Working collaboratively with internal teams, the Senior Manager provides strategic leadership, supports technical integration, and fulfills administrative and reporting requirements. In addition, this role may directly manage a team of channel sales and business development professionals.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Market Development Strategy

      • Define, size, and prioritize market segments across Public Sector, Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Field Mobility verticals

      • Conduct detailed market research on procurement structures, workflows, and competitive threats

      • Oversee the development of go-to-market plans, business cases, and value propositions tailored by vertical

      • Identify adjacent opportunities in Public Sector, Retail, Transportation and Logistics and related industries

      • Provide innovative ideas and strategic direction to advance initiatives

      • Lead discovery and development of new verticals, applications, and ecosystem relationships.

      • Actively seek out new opportunities for industrial labeling, mobile printing, and workflow integration

    Channel Partner & ISV Recruitment and Enablement

      • Recruit, onboard, and develop strategic resellers, integrators, and ISVs aligned with BMS verticals

      • Evaluate partner capabilities and establish mutually beneficial business models

      • Create joint business plans and drive co-selling initiatives

      • Support training, deal registration, and program compliance

      • Drive technical integration of BMS products with partner solutions

    New Business Development and Major Account

      • Prospect, qualify, and develop net-new opportunities across government agencies, retailers, and logistics providers

      • Lead discovery, solution mapping, pilots, and proposals for complex sales cycles

      • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.

      • Engage key stakeholders and decision-makers to influence procurement and adoption

    Administration, Collaboration and Team Management

      • Maintain accurate reporting, forecasts, and market intelligence

      • Communicate results and insights to management with timely updates

      • Collaborate with internal teams including Vertical Sales, Channel Sales, Product Management, and Marketing

      • Represent BMS at industry events, conferences, and partner engagements

    Experience & Qualifications

    Education

      • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Marketing, or related business field

    Experience

      • Minimum 8 years a combination of relevant experience spanning the following areas:
        • Experience in sales, business development, vertical marketing, product marketing/management and account management Experience with labeling solutions, mobile printers in information technology and industrial business sectors
      • Minimum 5 years:
        • Sales experience in a medium to large original equipment manufacturers

      • Ability to penetrate and navigate large, complex end user organizations. Understanding, internalizing and influence their decision-making process to produce sales results

      • Ability to seek out new end user opportunities and influence decision makers

      • Creative, aggressive and analytical thinker with ability to identify market needs and propose/create solutions with strong value proposition to meet those needs

      • Independent thinker that leads initiatives, develops and executes programs

      • Innovative, growth-oriented thinker that demonstrates leadership capabilities and positions themselves as a vertical market specialist

      • Ability to create and present strong sales and marketing strategy presentations with an in-depth understanding of sales/marketing principles

      • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, exhibiting a customer-centric focus

    Base Salary

      • The targeted base salary range for this position is $ 120,000.00- $ 145,000.00 per year.

      • Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data.

    Additional Compensation

      • This position is eligible for a $ 34,000 sales bonus in annual total at 100% of target, with the opportunity to achieve above 100% dependent on individual performance and in alignment with company sales and bonus plans.

      • This position is also eligible for a 6.86% bonus at 100% of target, with the opportunity to achieve above 100% dependent on company performance and in alignment with company bonus plans.

      • Bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon individual performance as well as Brother achieving its corporate objectives, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan in effect.

      • This position is also eligible for an auto allowance paid monthly in the first pay period of each month. This auto allowance may be used in the employee's sole discretion but is intended toward maintenance of the employee's own vehicle they'll be using for business commuting. This is independent and in addition to the company's Travel & Entertainment policy, which covers mileage reimbursement and additional business travel expenses.

    About Where We Work

    Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA.
