    The Role at a Glance

    The Senior Manager, Distribution Operations leads the largest distribution center (DC) in the Brother distribution network. They work closely with the management team of our local Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider to ensure a safe work environment and meet efficiency, safety, quality, cost, and productivity goals. They foster collaboration and respect among departments like Corporate Finance, IT, and Transportation to improve the supply chain.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Distribution Management:

    • Manage all distribution functions and allocate internal and external resources to meet service level agreements and customer service objectives through 3PL Management

    • Coordinate the inbound and outbound processes and performance of the DC

    • Drive continuous improvement and align with overall corporate performance requirements by playing a key operational role in promoting actions and making investments that lead to outstanding outcomes

    Inventory Operations:

    • Ensure accuracy of the warehouse management system (WMS) to the SAP ERP system. Monitor and report any unexpected analysis results. Investigate root cause for discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional team members for resolution.

    • Maintain efficient storage of product to meet operational needs; identify scrap or transfer opportunities to optimize and balance among business divisions and distribution facilities

    Strategic Direction:

    • Build and recommend strategic plans and prepare complete action plans for the performance improvement and cost reduction of distribution activities

    • Implement production, efficiency, quality and customer-service standards as defined in the contract with the 3PL

    • Complete performance audits of the 3PL's performance and identify performance trends and build plans to address the performance issues

    • Align with the Director, National Operations on all aspects of operations, including any issues that may affect the success of the facility or impact to production, workforce, and customer outcomes

    Key Experience & Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering Required

    Experience

    • Minimum 8 years managing operations in a fast-paced distribution center and leading large multi-million dollar projects Required

    Software/Technical Skills

    • Warehouse Management System (WMS)

    • SAP Order Management

    Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Proven familiarity with Full Truckload (FTL), Less than Truckload (LTL) and Parcel transit process

    • Project management and large project oversight experience

    • Ability to successfully work with people at all levels of the organization

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Compensation & Schedule for This Role

    This role will be an onsite role. #LI-Onsite

    • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 per year

    • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data

    • This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives

    About Where We Work

    Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always "at your side" for our customers.
