The Role at a Glance
The Senior Manager, Sales leads and drives the success of a dynamic sales team, overseeing Regional Sales Managers, including manufacturer representatives, while also directly managing a designated sales territory. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on territory and key account management to achieve divisional sales objectives.
The Senior Sales Manager establishes clear KPIs, monitors performance, and implements strategies to maximize team effectiveness and revenue growth. Additionally, this role fosters strong relationships with key end-user customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships. This position leverages a deep understanding of territory management and results-driven tactics to lead and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals, with an emphasis on new business development.
Leadership and Team Management
Directly manage and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers & Representatives, including manufacturer representatives, to ensure alignment with divisional goals
Set, track, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to drive growth and development
Foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture
Direct Territory Management
Oversee sales activities within an assigned territory, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
Build and maintain relationships with regional OEMs, distributors, and other key stakeholders
Develop and execute strategic plans to grow sales in the territory and meet or exceed targets
Key Account Management
Serve as the primary contact for designated key end-user customers, ensuring their needs are met and opportunities for growth are maximized
Develop tailored solutions for strategic accounts, leveraging cross-functional resources as needed
Negotiate contracts to drive long-term partnerships
Strategic Planning and Reporting
Collaborate with senior leadership to define sales strategies and goals
Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and performance data to inform decision-making
Provide regular updates and detailed sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales initiatives with company objectives
Share market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement in products and services
Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred Required
Experience
Minimum 8 years Required
Developing and executing sales strategies within industrial or technical markets
Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts, negotiate contracts, and build long-term customer relationships
Proven expertise in setting and achieving KPIs to meet divisional sales goals
Minimum 3 years Required
Experience managing and leading sales teams, including direct oversight of Regional Sales Managers and/or manufacturer representatives
Minimum 2 years Preferred
Experience in the gearmotor, automation, or related industrial equipment industry, with a focus on selling to OEMs
Experience in territory management, particularly in U.S. manufacturing regions
Experience in managing both direct and indirect sales channels, including distributor and representative networks
Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a focus on scaling sales efforts

Compensation & Schedule for This Role
This role will be a Remote role. This role will manage all National sales, directly managing all the sales team members of GMD #LI-Remote
The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $130,000 - $152,000 per year
Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives

About Where We Work
Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always "at your side" for our customers.
