Role Overview
The Senior Product Manager, New Business actively manages the end-to-end development, product planning and life cycle for a new consumer durable product category to be sold through omnichannel retailing (integrating brick & mortar, ecommerce, catalog, etc.). This role will work closely with internal and external partners, including the Vice President of New Business & Solution Development, to guide the development of the first generation of products within the new category and to develop and execute the product launch plan. This includes synthesizing market and customer research, determining the right features, price points and other attributes to incorporate into the products, and testing and refining both the new product concepts and the product launch plans and marketing messaging.
In addition to managing the successful launch of the organization's new products, the Senior Product Manager, New Business will be further responsible for overseeing enhancements and variations based on customer feedback and market insights, including coordinating the 2-5-year product roadmap planning, future feature/function specifications and enhancements, market analysis, and refinement of the long-term product strategy & development. These activities require facilitating tradeoffs with technology, costs, and customer needs, and ensuring commercial excellence and future growth in the category.
Duties & Responsibilities
New Category Product Development
Utilize market and customer understanding to craft the final specifications and other attributes of the new category product lineup, including 3-5 new SKUs
Lead, manage, and organize all recommendations on future product development in the category, working closely with domestic and international counterparts on short-term and long-term product roadmaps
Collaborate with Product Marketing and other Product Development departments to define new product innovations, technology success criteria, roadmaps, and capitalize on business opportunities
Solve complex profit/cost problems and recommend solutions in order to make informed and educated decisions
New Category Launch Planning and Execution
Work closely with the Product Marketing team and other key stakeholders to develop and execute a launch strategy for the new category products in the US
Act as the lead communicator of the long-term vision and strategy for the new category and new products with internal and external stakeholders
Develop materials and product strategies that can be applied for future expansion of these products into other countries/regions
Execute a data-driven launch of the new products that includes defined Milestones / Success Metrics and allows rapid pivots to take advantage of additional opportunities or to mitigate identified concerns
Provide regular reviews of projects and programs to assure ongoing alignment with Product Marketing, Executive leadership, and broader internal and external BIC teams, outlining all decisions needed within the project or program
Develop presentation materials, charts, documents, or graphics to help illustrate Brother USA's product launch plan for key domestic and international leadership teams
Sales Support and Communication
Serve as a global subject matter expert in support of sales meetings with relevant channel partners and in direct coordination with those channel partners to influence key decisions
Develop and share relevant information about competitive technology and specs, up-and-coming consumer trends / wants / needs, and other information that can support sales and channel discussions or channel market marketing efforts
Ensure that accurate, timely, and relevant information is available for the new products in Brother's Product Information Management (PIM) system and accessible to relevant partners
Experience & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) MBA, Marketing, or related field
Experience
Minimum 8 years
A combination of experience spanning the following areas: Experience in Product Planning & Development, preferably in consumer electronics, consumer durables, or a similar field; Experience independently executing on full-cycle product management, including development, strategy, launch, and enablement; Experience with business planning & analysis in support of new product introduction; Experience interfacing with customers, partners, sales teams, vendors, and other stakeholders
Software/Technical Skills
Technical product expertise and omnichannel retail environments
Solid understanding of the Product Commercialization Process, including stage gate development practices and Launch Excellence
Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Superior critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to easily navigate data and synthesize complex data into workable prices of information

Additional Details for This Role
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid
Base Salary
The targeted base salary range for this position is $147,000 - $175,000 year.
Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data.
Additional Compensation
This position is eligible for a 20**%** bonus at 100% of target, with the opportunity to achieve above 100% dependent on company performance and in alignment with company bonus plans.
Bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon individual performance as well as Brother achieving its corporate objectives, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan in effect.

About Where We Work
Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA.
