d proactive Assistant Controller to support financial leadership and ensure high standards in reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This position plays a key role in strengthening CCC's financial infrastructure while fostering team collaboration and continuous process improvement.
This position is based in Chicago and requires in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Manage the preparation and filing of all SEC documents (i.e. 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks), ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
Manage the preparation and distribution of timely internal reporting to business stakeholders
Analyze financial results and communicate insights to senior leadership
Technical Accounting
Lead technical research and application of US GAAP for complex transactions and disclosures, including guiding other teams.
Assist in the documentation of accounting position papers
Oversee revenue recognition accounting, including guiding the business
Research new accounting pronouncements and develop an impact analysis and implementation plan
Compliance & Controls
Maintain and enhance internal control systems and processes
Support internal and external audit processes
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
Process Improvement & Efficiency
Evaluate current accounting workflows and recommend enhancements,
Partner with technology teams to implement finance system upgrades and automation, including the use of AI.
Promote a mindset of continuous improvement within the department
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise and mentor accounting staff and promote a high level of team engagement
Promote process efficiency and a culture of accountability
Work cross-functionally with various departments (i.e. IT, Legal, Finance) to drive financial effectiveness
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required
12 to 15 years of progressive accounting experience with 5 -7 years at a managerial level
Public accounting experience required
Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and manage multiple projects
Ability to understand complex accounting issues and the ability to research and apply accounting standards
Clear communication and problem-solving abilities
Leadership mindset with attention to detail
Experience with financial reporting systems (i.e,. Workday, DFIN, Workva, etc.)
