moving, Casualty product team for our internally developed IES/DPS product. We build enterprise class, hosted solutions that service thousands of end-users. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated person interested in designing and developing modern software solutions for our applications and partners. Our Casualty solution automates and expedites the bill review process for our insurance customers, utilizing external and internal data sources business rules.
This position can be remote working in the central or eastern time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for a cross-functional agile team consisting of skilled Software Engineers, QA Analysts, and other disciplines to deliver highly scalable solutions, while consulting with internal and external clients, including Product Management, User Experience, Account Management, Operations, Production Support, and Release Management. You will own the inputs and outputs for the team, as well as the team's internal software development processes.
Manage the product development process, gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinate work in a manner that ensures efficient on-time delivery of tasks and milestones.
Translate high level business requirements and existing system processes into functional specifications, using user stories, UML diagrams, data dictionaries, etc., for the development team and manage changes to such specifications.
Groom and prioritize backlog, develop user stories, and define acceptance criteria.
Perform scrum master duties, including running standups, retrospectives, sprint planning, and management of the board in Azure DevOps.
Assist in the business process with redesigning and documentation, as applicable, for new and existing technologies.
Prepare instruction manuals, runbooks, and other training documentation, as needed.
Prepare status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Perform system testing as needed for new products and production fixes.
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with customer stakeholders.
Become a subject matter expert and be able to demonstrate product capabilities.
Occasional troubleshooting using SQL and scanning code and understanding software patterns and architecture.
Requirements:
Bachelors in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or comparable degree.
5-8+ years of product ownership and business analysis experience in a custom software development environment
5-8+ years of scrum master experience running small teams
8-12+ years in the commercial software space
Understands technological trends in the industry and uses this knowledge to develop innovative solutions to enhance CCC's competitive edge
Excellent written communication skills - documentation, presentations, and flowcharts
Excellent verbal communication skills - communicate w/business partners, internal audiences, technical analysts, developers, & other cross functional staff
Working knowledge of reading and writing complex SQL queries for data manipulation
Working knowledge of Visio and other graphical tools
Expertise reading other people's code, JSON, and XML
Familiarity with the use of Artificial Intelligence in business applications
Comfortable working without or little oversight to learn and build expertise in the Casualty domain.
Knowledge and practical use of the following:
Software development life cycle, including agile and waterfall
Software and database fundamentals
Existing and emerging technologies
Tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues
