What You'll Do:
Serve as an escalation point and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex payroll and tax issues.
Responsible for ensuring the execution of quarter and year-end process is completed - Run payroll tax integrations, research, correct discrepancies and prepare reconciliations.
Responsible for ensuring the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual worker's comp audit and tax incentive requests.
Responsible for the completion of the amendment processing.
RSU processing including pre-payments/reversals, running integrations, researching, and correcting tax variances.
Create and maintain complex reports from Workday and other systems.
Assist with the planning and implementation of projects and system testing.
Act as a mentor to other payroll team members, providing training, support and guidance on projects, tasks, and troubleshooting.
Ability to identify complex issues and demonstrate curiosity to investigate and resolve.
Performs maintenance on payroll tax updates and is responsible for testing new or changed payroll tax functionality, providing detailed design and program specifications.
Proactively assess, refine, and implement Payroll tax process improvements and tools, including requirements, system design, data flows, interfaces, testing, validation, documentation, and team training.
Ability to initiate and lead conversations to drive payroll projects and issue resolutions, including directing work of team members.
Assist in setting goals for department around objectives and projects.
Maintain and help drive innovations and execution to support accurate and efficient day-to-day operations.
Research laws and regulation changes and how they affect the payroll system and processes.
Support Payroll management and team members with projects and other tasks as required.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or relevant field. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
3+ years related experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll for a mid-to large size company.
3+ years related experience in payroll tax.
Hands on and strong knowledge/experience with ADP Smart Compliance, Workday, and KRONOS.
Understanding of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required.
Understanding of payroll accounting.
Consistently achieves goals by prioritizing work and resources appropriately.
Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word)
Able to work independently.
Able to work in a high growth environment under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work collaboratively.
FPC or CPP certification preferred.
