to the executives and management of Cinemark, including financial and operational performance metrics, revenue and expense trends, and other key business indicators
Write advanced SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from Cinemark's financial and operational systems, including revenue, business metrics, and staffing data, and use these queries to feed Power BI datasets and other data tools for the FP&A team
Collaborate with the FP&A team to identify and prioritize key business metrics and performance indicators, and design Power BI reports that clearly and intuitively display this information to executives and management
Perform data analysis and modeling to identify trends and patterns in Cinemark's financial and operational data, and guide stakeholders in using these insights to inform business decisions and strategies
Work closely with Cinemark's IT and Data & Decision Support teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy, and to ensure that Power BI reports are properly integrated with the appropriate systems
Continuously monitor and maintain Power BI reports and models, including updating data sources and making design and functionality improvements as needed
Provide training and support to FP&A team members and end users on how to use Power BI and other data tools, and assist with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or equivalent work experience
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and other data analysis tools (3+ years of experience)
Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including the ability to develop and maintain datasets and reports (2+ years of experience)
Intermediate proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write basic queries and an understanding of joins (1+ year of experience)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and patterns in complex datasets
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to business leadership
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or equivalent work experience
Experience working with Essbase or Workday
Experience with other BI tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, or Qlik
Experience with programming languages, such as Python or R, for data analysis and modeling
Experience working with large and complex data sets, including the ability to manipulate and clean data using advanced SQL techniques
Experience in the entertainment or theatrical exhibition industry
