• Responsible for relaying accurate direction when dispatching officers to emergency incidents on CNM properties/geography.
• Dispatches additional internal and external resources as needed or requested i.e. elevator repair, maintenance services, parking services, safety department services.
• Monitors security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to detect and respond to security threats or suspicious activities on campus.
• Responsible for locking down and clearing a locked down campus utilizing the Access Control System in the event of an active shooter, mass assailant, or other high priority incident determined to be necessary.
• Monitor multiple phone system applications to ensure functionality (Jabber/Zoom Recording System/Cisco Emergency Responder) and conduct video investigations for reported incidents and operates a Computer Aided Dispatch System (CAD) to record all emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Prepares, distributes and assigns incident reports utilizing the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to include properly recording information recorded in the Report Exec System (AKA Omnigo).
• Performs a high level of customer contact related to internal and external departmental requests, resources, and support services.
• Works to perform duties in ERP or other software systems such as, Banner Student System, State Motor Vehicle System, T2 Parking System, Zoom Call Recording System, ReportExec System (Omnigo), License Plate Reader, and Access Control System.
• Updates and manages key inventory to include issuing keys to applicable staff, ensuring the return of issued keys on a daily basis.
• Coordinates with Information Technology Services to resolve all technical issues related to telephone and computer hardware/software problems in the Dispatch Center.
• Responsible for keeping up to date with training and professional development activities and adhere to security procedures, emergency response protocols, and communication systems.
• Serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
• Performs other related duties as assigned, including foot/vehicle patrols throughout CNM Main Campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of dispatch or related experience.
This position requires a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
Candidates must successfully complete the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Telecommunication Certificate and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) VOIP E911 Certificate within one (1) year of employment.
