Duties & Responsibilities
Participate in school and college activities such as, but not limited to, developing new curriculum or student recruitment.
Collaborate with faculty and staff from other schools/departments to promote communication, coordinate schedules, and support student success.
Collaborate with high schools, universities, business and industry or external agencies as appropriate, and assist with program advisory committees as requested.
Support collegiality by actively participating in the professional development of new and veteran faculty (for example, mentoring, peer observations).
Serve on department, school, and college committees and task teams.
Participate in and assist with student activities and clubs.
Participate in other activities as appropriate and approved by the dean.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
CNM's School of Education is currently looking for a full-time instructor to teach in our associate degree and post-baccalaureate programs. The ideal candidates for this position have broad experience in public schools, are familiar with licensure requirements, and are grounded in best practices for diverse learners. Individuals with a background teaching at the secondary level, as well as those with expertise in literacy and/or math instruction, are highly encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field
Level II New Mexico Teaching license (or equivalent)
Five years of teaching experience in K-12 public school settings
Preferences:
Licensure, degrees, and/or experience across multiple educational areas.
Teaching experience with a specific focus on secondary settings (grade 6-12) and/or math and literacy content instruction
Experience in teaching college-level education coursework
Experience with clinical supervision and/or support of preservice/early-career teachers
Experience teaching and/or working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations representative of the diversity of New Mexico
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Native American languages
