Provides supervision in the absence of a Learning Center Supervisor as delegated and assist ACE Management with recruiting, screening, hiring, orienting, mentoring and retaining new peer (student), and/or volunteer tutors.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level of assigned.
Duties specific to ABE tutors
Become familiar with ESL (English as a Second Language) and HSE (High School Equivalency) curriculum, as well as the contents of the HiSet and GED tests.
Tutor ESL and HSE students in drop in lab, by appointment, and in conversation/study groups.
Conduct asynchronous and synchronous tutoring via Email and Zoom
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of thirty (30) hours of postsecondary course work to include a minimum of nine (9) hours in the specific discipline; content courses must be completed with a grade of B or better.
Required at time of application: unofficial transcripts with course names and grades, resume or CV, cover letter.
