category management at BODYARMOR. This role leverages our various knowledge sources and systems to provide robust and fact-based insights that influence decision making at national retail. The ultimate objective of this role is to be a partner to National Account Managers by providing them the guidance, tools and support they need to overachieve against their sales goals. This role will report to the Small Format Sr. Category Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Retail Partnership
Participant and major player in small format national account annual line reviews, Top to Top objective settings, meeting preparation, deck development and in-person meeting participation. Provide fact-based thought leadership to influence strategic and tactical decisions for customer planning and execution.
As part of regular meeting preparation, find compelling fact-based insights to support a story line culminating in recommendations that highlight benefits for the retailer and shopper while supporting BODYARMOR corporate objectives. This process will leverage a wide variety of insights tools including scan consumption, shopper panel, depletions, assortment/planogram software and proprietary CATMAN tools.
As part of regular meeting preparation, lead process to maximize category and BODYARMOR sales through assortment optimization, days on hand analysis and regression modeling culminating in a retailer specific planogram recommendation reflecting look of success
This position plays a critical role during key customer meetings not only as the primary presenter, but to bring a category first mentality and made recommendations based on best practices from similar customers on how BODYARMOR helped retailers achieve their goals
Category Analytics
Proactively & consistently analyze key customer performance and identify execution gaps, sub-par item performance, post-promo evaluation and category dynamic shifts
Work closely to rank retail opportunity areas to ensure time, effort and resources are put against the largest opportunities to achieve corporate objectives
Work closely to identify retailer specific pricing and promotional opportunities to ensure our everyday shelf prices are compelling to shoppers and that trade spend is being spent as efficiently as possible to maximize brand sales and trial
Team Leadership
Lead team of associate managers and analysts - provide direction and coaching to realize potential and enable professional development of associates and ensure company strategy and plan is executed.
Lead training sessions to enable our sales force to be more comfortable selling with advanced analytics.
Assist in training junior members of the CATMAN team to build their skillsets and provide feedback to ensure the highest quality work
REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree required
5+ yrs experience in sales, category management, shopper insights & strategy required
Advanced technical proficiency in: Scan systems (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Scintilla, Madrid, 1010) required
Panel systems (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Numerator) and Trade funds management software required
Proven team player with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and keen attention to detail
Field sales experience is a plus.
