Education & Experience:
Required:
High School diploma
Minimum of five years' experience in coding for professional services.
Recent and extensive ICD-10-CM and CPT experience is required.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Must have sharp analytical and critical thinking skills, must be highly detail-oriented, have strong organizational, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality, create positive relationships, and be flexible, goal-oriented, and energetic.
Ability to work with, and provide excellent customer service routinely in all types of interactions with all individuals.
Preferred:
Associate's Degree
2+ years experience of leading, supervising or managerial tasks
Pediatric coding & billing experience
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
Required:
One of the following AAPC or AHIMA credentials:
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
