• btain information to fill out new prescriptions and refills by phone as needed. Fill prescriptions and prepare compounds in accordance with state law and hospital policy.
• versee the stocking of the daily order and tracking of all controlled substances. Report any dispensing incidents through the event reporting system. Supervise pharmacy technicians and students. Ensure compliance with all Class A state pharmacy rules, federal and hospital rules, specialty pharmacy accreditation(s), and 340B program management operations.
Patient Experience: Openly communicate with customers and patients while protecting their health information and providing counseling as needed. This will include working with pharmacists and clinical staff from other areas in the hospital to facilitate timely medications dispensation. Facilitate receipt of patient assistance program benefits to appropriate patients and families. Administer immunizations pursuant to hospital protocols.
Process Improvement: Work with pharmacists, technicians, and other healthcare providers to enhance workflow that improves patient care. Participate in the collection of data as needed for QI/QA efforts. Maintain solution-oriented focus to problem solving to foster a positive working environment.

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D
Degree from an ACPE accredited school required
Certification/Licensure:
Texas Pharmacist License or eligible for Texas Licensure as a registered pharmacist
Pharmacist and pharmacy preceptor licensure must be obtained within 90 days of eligibility
