Design and Specification Creation
Support the reverse engineering process using 3D laser scanning equipment & handheld material analysis equipment available
Conversion of 3D scan files into 2D engineered drawings
Creation and management of product specifications
Management and backup of all project information, this includes ensuring compliance with EU, US and International Standards
Business Initiatives
Continue to build and strengthen the relationships and alignment with the GDS teams in Asia and Europe
Develop and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders by providing technical and engineering support for parts supplied through reverse engineering process
In close collaboration with GDS team members- researching, evaluating and engaging with suppliers on technical issues/concerns that arise
Supporting the audit and evaluation of potential new manufacturing sources during best cost country sourcing initiatives
Data Management and Reporting
Supporting with database administration - management and control of a large volume of engineering drawings, specifications, technical manuals and project information
Aid in maintaining process timeline to enhance transparency to the business
Updating business opportunity trackers
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering
1-3 years of experience using CAD to create engineered drawings utilizing GD&T
Work Requirements
Ability to travel - up to 20%
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Understanding of manufacturing techniques and best practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
Experience working in a construction related manufacturing environment a plus
Experience using Autodesk Inventor/Vault preferred
Have a passion for product design and innovation
Be a self-starter, detailed orientated and highly motivated
Have the ability to make sound design decisions
Possess strong analytical skills
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position. The team is typically in the office 2-3 days a week, depending on the business needs.
Primarily, normal office working conditions. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
The position may require work outside of normal business hours.
