The Distribution Manager is expected to champion technology and innovation to improve processes in our distribution facilities while looking for short-term wins to elevate performance in the current system.

This is an onsite role based in Morristown, TN
Job Responsibilities
Manage daily distributions operations including inventory control, order fulfillment and transportation logistics
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse and distribution efficiency (e.g., regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.)
Leads efforts in planning labor, equipment, warehouse layout and material requirements for production
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure service levels and cost targets are met
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
Responsible for developing a positive team environment that encourages maximum utilization of the available personnel
Lead, train and supervise distribution staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
Oversee the maintenance and operation of distribution equipment and vehicles (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners)
Prepare and manage budgets, reports and forecasts related to distribution activities
Responsible for establishing operational procedures for activities such as verifications of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of material and keeping warehouse inventory current by utilizing WMS (Warehouse Management System) and other software
Responsible for root cause solutions for customer complaints involving such matters as damaged items, overcharges and delay in shipment
Administers hourly and salaried performance appraisals/reviews
Other duties assigned based on the needs of the business
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in warehouse operations
2+ years in a managerial role
Experience with WMS and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Strong understanding of warehouse procedures and inventory management
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory standards
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong commitment to safety and operational efficiency
Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CLTD, Six Sigma, preferred)
Experience with automation and advanced distribution technology (preferred)
