e, toxic, and other hazards, using decibel meter, gas detector, and light meter - Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities - Prepares report of findings with recommendations for corrective action/s - Investigate accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety program/s - May demonstrate use of safety equipment - Ensures compliance with occupational safety and health regulations - Coordinates of Safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses - Assist with Human Resources with the recruitment/orientation processes - Additional assignments with the Safety Director's direction
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree of occupational safety/health preferred or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
At least 1 - 2 years of constructions and/or industrial safety experience
Safety Certifications: CHST, OHST, CSHO, etc. are highly desirable
Thorough understanding and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and Company regulations
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement essential corrective measures
Solid training/teaching experience
Must be knowledgeable of Workers' Compensation laws
High ethical standards
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support, etc.) to get things done
Must be able to orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish a goal
Able to use resources effectively and efficiently and arrange information in a useful manner
Be able to be a strong voice in bringing the company's slogan of Safety First, Always to the forefront
