What you'll be contributing:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, learns to install, calibrate, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment in the plant and in the quarry. Must have completed or be near successful completion of the formal classroom training program in electronics.
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Has knowledge and experience in some phases of electrical and electronic work.
Has knowledge and experience in some phases of electrical and electronic work.
Locating and repairing electric and electronic circuits, equipment and controls
Locating, repairing, adjusting and calibrating electric and electronic recording, measuring and indicating instruments
Installing, modifying and repairing electrical distribution systems
Becoming familiar with N.E.C. requirements
Interprets and understands instructions, prints, sketches and wiring diagrams.
Plans and lays out work with the assistance of the supervisor.
Assists other electricians as needed performing manual work and resolving problems.
Adjusts brakes, limit switches and V belts. Removes and installs pulleys and/or couplings.
Replaces lamps as necessary for safety and proper working condition.
Observes all safety rules and keeps work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Ability to interpret instructions, prints, sketches and wiring diagrams.
High school graduation or equivalent is required
Must successfully pass company advancement program to upgrade to this position classification.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to properly operate mobile equipment (once trained) required.
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work is to be performed outdoors, in all weather conditions. Exposure to dust, loud noise, heat, dirt, and high elevations of up to 150 feet. Exposure to high elevations of up to 150 feet in height. Lifting and handling equipment weighing up to 90 pounds. Work involves walking over rough surfaces, climbing 30-foot ladders, climbing stairs, bending pushing, pulling, working at heights up to 250 feet; working in an awkward position and in confined spaces, and lifting materials weighing up to 125 pounds. Ability to climb up and down stairs.
