Position: Multi Skilled Technician - Sapphire
Reports to: AFR Site Manager
Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (2nd shift)
Pay: $29/hr

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Technician with expertise in both electrical and mechanical disciplines to join our materials recycling pre-processing plant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, pumps, crushers, and other plant equipment.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including wiring, control panels and PLC systems.
Perform mechanical repairs, including bearing replacements, belt adjustments, and hydraulic system maintenance.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Implement upgrades and modifications to improve plant efficiency and reliability.
Back up to Heavy Equipment Operator position.
Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Participate in safety training and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant safety practices.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and parts inventory.
Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the site manager promptly.
Work closely with others to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Provide technical support and training to personnel as needed.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
H igh school graduation or equivalent is required
Associate degree in electrical/mechanical engineering is preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience in the cement and/or waste management industry is desirable.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control systems.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and fabrication.
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
