Summary:
The Network Administrator provides technical support for personal computers (hardware and software). This position provides network administration services for Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange-based LANs deployed at the organization. The position assists in problem diagnosis and management of the Wide-Area-Network (WAN) facilities that link all our divisions.
What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Supports the installation and maintenance of local area networks, personal computers, and network-based printer devices.
Provides Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory administration oversight to the corporate wired and wireless networks.
Assists and provides guidance to designated employees in the everyday administration and troubleshooting support for Plant LAN facilities, servers, PCs, printers, etc.
Provides direct supervision and task oversight to contract technologists engaged occasionally to assist with special projects.
Provides training to automation engineers and PC Support Specialists in the use of PC hardware and software, LAN administration principles, and wireless networks.
Provides technical support and software administration for the Cisco I.P., Telephony system, and IPT systems.
Serves as principal contact with Dell, HP, Cisco, and other key vendors on hardware ordering and support issues.
Prepares equipment configuration and pricing for server, desktop, and laptop computers ordered thru capital purchasing procedures.
Performs complex problem diagnosis and repair procedures on LAN and personal computer hardware.
Assists in the diagnosis and correction of WAN-specific problems.
Installs personal computer and network equipment at various locations.
Diagnoses and repairs performance problems associated with all such equipment.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Minimum 2 Year Associate Degree Data processing or completion of a computer science trade school program.
Preferred 4 Year / Bachelors Degree computer science or equivalent data processing experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in windows server, Microsoft-based LAN administration experience, with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory environments supporting the Microsoft Office suite. Experience in a regulated environment
Minimum 2 years of experience in dell servers, desktop and laptop computers, as well as Dell technical support procedures.
Minimum administration and technical support experience with Cisco AVVID I.P. Telephony systems, Call Manager and Unified Messaging
Ability to analyze facts to arrive at a conclusion
Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in parallel to the conclusion
Ability to quickly troubleshoot and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently
Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
Proficient in technical aptitude skills
Ability to be highly thorough and dependable
Ability to work under minimal supervision on routine duties involving specified standard practices.
Ability to refer more technically complex problems and questionable items to management for direction.
