Job Responsibilities
• Assists Plant Managers in designing, defining, improving and maintaining their safety programs
• Educate employees via the Safety Steering Committee (SSC) to the level of "risk assessment" understanding to ensure goals towards a zero accident, zero incident workplace goals are being met
• Manage and review all work-related injury situations including minor injuries, recordable injuries, incident documentation and investigation, and improve record keeping
• Identify/analyze potential workplace hazards to avoid accidents and injuries
• Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including written policies
• Supports plant personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Assists as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports
• Audits practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations
• Continually study government agency regulatory requirements to ensure compliance, while improving personal skills and knowledge
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Excellent communication skills are required-verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of OSHA and EH&S preferred but not required
• Ability to obtain OSHA 30 HR Course Certification
• Ability to train, influence, motivate, and lead others
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
