Keep controllable operating expenses within budget allowance while conducting a continuous cost reduction program and being alert for other improvements in plant operation.
Administer safety program developed in writing by the Safety Department.
Analyze and correct hazardous conditions
Request necessary personnel to staff the plant for the forecast level of operations. Assign tasks, train and check progress of personnel, frequently keeping them advised of their progress.
Approve and forward all timesheets
Assume responsibility for training a qualified lead person to fill in or replace Quarry Superintendent whenever necessary.
Maintain properties in good condition and appearance.
Carry out approved plans for plant rehabilitation and beautification.
Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement
Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training
Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations
Direct mine and pit planning
Work Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical which may include obtaining medical card for driving purposes.
Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to work at the designated start time.
Be able to work overtime when required.
Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
Education/Experience
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Previous related experience in the construction field and/or training perferred.
Technical education or certificate on basic welding and fitting
Welding Certification approved by State is preferred, but not required
