Job Location
This position will be based in our facility in Ogden, UT .
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate daily delivery schedules based on sales request for product and product availability
Proactively communicate with customer their job status and product delivery schedule
Resolves production schedule conflicts prior to shipment, ensuring on-time, error-free shipment and invoicing
Prepare shipment documents, permits, certifications and corresponding backup information for each shipment
Review and research new and existing transportation vendors; programs to reduce, replace and improve upon transportation costs
Maintain vehicle maintenance and records with a maintenance management service
Handle large volumes of phone calls/e-mails in a timely manner while making accurate and precise decisions regarding prioritizing shipment pickups, deliveries, maintenance, etc.
Ensures safety practices are being enforced, including load securement
Responsible for training and development of all shipping department personnel
Manages all outside haulers, coordinates with loading crew for next day deliveries
Work with yard crew for loading sequence and yard layout
Coaches and develops team members in the performance of their duties and completes periodic reviews.
Supports Safety and continuous improvement program by actively guiding team in hazardous risk identification, action, and reduction
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelors preferred
2+ year of dispatch experience
Experience with DOT compliance
Familiarity with the construction business
Previous precast concrete experience a plus
Understanding of safety and transportation requirements
Demonstrated critical thinking skills for complex problem solving
Demonstrated written / oral communication skills
Ability to effectively manage time and resource
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
Ability to respectfully interface with peers
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, Word, Outlook programs
Willing to work flexible, and extended hours, if needed
