    Position summary

    eadership**

    • Own the team backlog and lead prioritization efforts in alignment with strategic goals.

    • Ensure conceptual and technical integrity of EDI integrations by defining clear feature scope and iteration goals.

    • Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

    • Continuously evaluate backlog health and align deliverables to business value.

    2. EDI Subject Matter Expertise

    • Serve as the EDI B2B integration SME with a deep understanding of ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and other relevant standards.

    • Interpret and apply EDI Implementation Guides to meet trading partner and internal business requirements.

    • Collaborate with developers and integration engineers to design, test, and implement robust mapping and configuration within IBM Sterling Integrator .

    • Support the evaluation and onboarding of trading partners via VANs and direct protocols.

    3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

    • Partner with IT and business stakeholders during System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases.

    • Provide production migration oversight, hyper-care, and post-deployment support to ensure seamless transitions.

    • Drive continuous improvement through end-user feedback and platform usage analytics.

    4. Testing & Quality Assurance

    • Coordinate EDI testing efforts, define acceptance criteria, and validate deliverables against functional and non-functional requirements.

    • Promote engineering best practices to improve maintainability and reduce operational risk.

    • Own the decision to accept completed work into production based on quality and business alignment.

    5. Business Relationship Management & Communication

    • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with business partners, IT teams, and external vendors.

    • Facilitate cross-functional communication to promote transparency, manage dependencies, and resolve conflicts.

    • Act as a voice of the customer, ensuring business value is delivered in every release.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

    Experience:

    Experience working as a software engineer with the following knowledge and experiences are preferred:

    • Working in Agile environments;

    • Fundamental IT technical skill sets;

    • Taking a system from coping requirements through actual launch of the system;

    • Communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines;

    • Professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Creation of Trading Partner setups for our Customer Network.

    2. Develop and Maintain maps used for data transformation Create data workflows and technical frameworks such as Error Handling, Logging, Monitoring and Audit and Notification.

    3. Maintain EDI systems, leveraging technologies such as Sterling File Gateway / Sterling B2B Integrator, Unix Shell Scripts/ANT/PYTHON scripts.

    4. Manage/Review EDI Team remedy tickets with minimal support, Report on EDI tickets, assist in EDI.

    5. Server, database maintenance and basic troubleshooting, encourages root cause analysis using the formal problem-solving approach for recurring issues.

    6. Collaborate with Internal and External Customers, IBM VAN, other Operations teams, application teams, Vendor Team, infrastructure specialists, DBAs, and business analysts for Production support and Delivery.

    7. Ensures ongoing service delivery and support meet agreed customer requirements. Review service agreements, monitors and reports service delivery metrics (i.e. Scorecards, Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction).

    8. Communicates on major service outages/escalations. Develops and manages relationships with key customers and suppliers. Maintains relationships and facilitates meetings with technical teams, IT, and business partners.

    9. Works closely with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work packages are delivered to specifications, meeting key parameters of quality, schedule, cost, security, performance, and scalability.

    10. Conducts or participates in formal design reviews and code reviews (where applicable) to ensure the detailed design specifications have been understood and coding standards have been adhered to by the development team(s).

    11. Seeks appropriate opportunities to promote re-usability of component designs to reduce costs and shorten time to deliver solutions.

    12. Proactively seeks opportunities to enhance efficiency in the build and deploy processes, leveraging automation where possible.

    13. Provides level 3 support for critical non-routine issues.

    14. Ensures industry standard security practices, protocols, encryption, access control and privacy standards are implemented, maintained and upgraded on all aspects of the EDI/B2B technology platform.

    Additional Skills/Experience

    1. Minimum 8-12 Years of total IT experience.

    2. At least 5+years in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and IBM Sterling Integrator File Gateway using standards like EDIFACT/ANSI, XML and flat file layouts.

    3. 4+ years in IBM EDI/B2B/File Gateway server administration with experience in JAVA, Unix Shell Scripts, ANT, or related.

    4. Preferred experience working with XML, XSLT, XQuery, XPath, JMS/AQ/MQ, Web services, Managed File Transfers.

    5. Exposure and experience in building APIs using modern API first or API led design based principals.
