- Delivering independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.
- Leading the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit.
- Coordinating and directs work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assisting in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers.
- Providing support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continuing to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role (see competencies below).
Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need experience in the following:
- Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
- Battery electrochemistry knowledge and experience to enable high quality testing of lithium-ion batteries in support of customer projects.
- Technical expertise, utilising detailed knowledge and understanding of electrochemical properties and materials chemistry of Li-ion energy storage cell technology, to provide support and assistance for Customer, R&D and new product introduction projects.
- The ability to work within a team of electrochemistry engineers and technicians to support the electrochemical characterisation of Li-ion cell technology for the purposes of verification, parameterisation, and implementation.
- The ability to collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineering team to perform in-house research, testing and analysis, writing technical reports and participating in review meetings.
- Skills and experience include substantial work or research in the field of electrochemistry with experience, and knowledge in Li-ion battery technology - ideally with experience with Li-ion batteries.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
