stic tools to resolve complex engine and system issues.
Identify additional service, retrofit, or sales opportunities and communicate them to relevant teams.
Diagnostics, Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose and resolve complex gas engine issues such as misfire, knocking, high exhaust temperature, deration, and load-related faults.
Interpret ECU fault codes, sensor data, error logs, and performance trends.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as Insite, InPower, Optimus, oscilloscopes, gas analyzers, and vibration analyzers.
Validate repairs by replicating complaints and confirming resolution.
Commissioning & Performance Optimization
Commission gas gensets operating on various gas types (Biogas, Natural Gas, PNG, CNG, LPG).
Tune and optimize air-fuel ratio (AFR), ignition timing, governor control, speed droop, and voltage settings.
Optimize engines for efficiency, emissions compliance, reliability, and site-specific gas conditions.
Support dual-fuel operation where applicable.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Execute and define preventive maintenance schedules specific to gas engines.
Perform condition-based monitoring of spark plugs, valves, compression, lubrication oil, and critical components.
Predict potential failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions to customers and service teams.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Ensure strict adherence to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and local regulations.
Guide customers and sites on gas safety, leak prevention, ventilation, flameproof equipment, and fire protection.
Understand and comply with explosion-proof and gas safety standards (ATEX, PESO, pressure systems).
Report safety incidents, risks, or non-conformances promptly.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete service documentation including service worksheets, commissioning reports, tuning reports, RCA/5-Why/8D analyses, warranty claims, and timesheets.
Maintain accurate service records in Cummins business systems for traceability and warranty evaluation.
Ensure quality documentation for audit, compliance, and continuous improvement.
