    Position summary

    Supporting the collection of HSE KPIs will provide valuable data for site, BU, and Corporate level decision-making.

    • Regulatory Compliance : Assisting with storm water management, employee training, and recordkeeping/reporting will help the site stay compliant with various regulations.

    • Continuous Improvement : Participating in internal and external HSE audits and updating HSEMS documentation will drive continuous improvement in the site's HSE practices.

    • Risk Reduction : Applying engineering and administrative controls to reduce environmental impacts and control safety risks will protect both the environment and employees.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    To be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Plan and Align : Prioritize and plan your work to meet commitments that align with organizational goals.

    • Champion Health and Safety : Model proactive health and safety behaviors, identify and report issues, and participate in actions to improve workplace safety.

    • Investigate Incidents : Conduct thorough, evidence-based investigations of HSE incidents, perform accurate root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    • Apply HSE Management Systems : Interpret and apply international HSE standards practically to maintain an effective management system and achieve external certification.

    • Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Identify, interpret, and manage legal and other HSE requirements, implement controls, and monitor and report on operational performance to ensure compliance.

    • Measure and Evaluate Performance : Collect and analyze HSE data, create key performance indicators, and use these insights to drive improvement goals, inform strategy, and protect employees and the environment.

    • Conduct Risk Assessments : Evaluate workplace hazards using risk assessment techniques, prioritize risks, and select control measures to reduce risks to acceptable levels.

    • Manage Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses : Communicate and document work-related injuries or illnesses, ensure compliance with reporting guidelines and regulations, and facilitate clinical treatment and case management to restore affected employees.

    • Extract Data Insights : Use data mining techniques to identify relationships and patterns, understand data structures, and draw sound conclusions to support decision-making.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Licenses, Certifications:

    • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific field required.

    Experience:

    • Minimal level of relevant work experience required.

    Additional Information/Responsibilities:

    • Determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    • Actively participate and lead incident investigation and reporting.

    • Build an understanding of and apply HSE culture ensuring it is integral to processes. Communicate effectively to create HSE awareness.

    • Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard through internal reporting processes.

    • Support the implementation and maintenance of hazard identification, incident investigation, and risk assessment processes.

    • Lead health, safety, environmental, and wellness initiatives.

    • College, university, or equivalent degree; HSE related.
