Facilities Maintenance Specialist

10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, and/or Pulling, Reaching

Responsibilities:

• Makes repairs to facility, also including parking lots, sidewalks, and grounds.
• Basic construction experience/competency required (drywall replacement/repair, painting, floor tiles/carpet, etc.).
• Repair or replace doors, building brick, stone, and concrete.
• Ability to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles.
• Assist maintenance team as needed.
• Oversee Custodial and/or landscape contractors while on premises.

Qualifications:

Techniques and methods of general building maintenance and repair.

• Basic carpentry skills - using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

• Painting and plastering - clean, prepare and patch basic types of interior and exterior surfaces for painting and coating.

• Asphalt and concrete repairs.

• Perform semi-skilled tasks of various trades.

• Identify the nature of repair and maintenance problems. Talk to others to effectively convey information.

General Education and Work Requirements - Education Level - Equivalent to high school.

Language - Able to read and interpret work instructions. Read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of shop tools and equipment. Able to communicate effectively in writing using proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
