    About the role:

    The Media & Digital Manger will act as the local market expert in France, within the EU Media and Digital Centre's Scaled Reach Engine. This role ensures that local nuances, innovations, and market dynamics are actively reflected in media plans, bridging regional strategy with local execution.

    As the primary media contact for the local French marketing team, they will apply regional playbooks to local campaigns, collaborate closely with the Media & Digital Market Lead to scale best practices, and will work closely with the Media and Digital Transformation managers in bringing campaigns to life. Proficiency in TV and offline media is essential, alongside strong experience in digitally focused campaigns and a deep understanding of the French media landscape

    This role will be 80% on the FR region and the remaining 20% will be focused on special projects to provide access to broader experiences beyond the FR landscape. In France, this role will be pivotal in accelerating Diageo's ongoing transformation toward data-driven, consumer-centric marketing, ensuring local activation excellence within the framework of the EU Media & Digital Centre.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Media Planning & Execution

    • Lead the development and briefing of media plans across both central and local activations, ensuring market-specific nuances, consumer behaviors, and innovation opportunities are reflected.

    • Translate regional strategies into locally actionable briefs, aligning with campaign objectives and brand guidelines

    • Ensure all paid media activations are managed end-to-end, harmonizing inputs from different engines: content, data / CRM, websites, and marketing effectiveness so that campaigns run seamlessly across the full consumer journey.

    • Support investment decisions by leveraging sufficiency modelling, competitive data, and other internal and external insights to guide optimal allocation.

    Local Market Expertise

    • Act as the go-to media contact for the local marketing team, offering guidance and support across all media-related queries.

    • Maintain a deep understanding of the local media landscape, including platform trends, audience behaviors, and competitive activity.

    • Be an expert on industry regulations for alc bev advertising

    • Co-ordinate media owner days/workshops for the local marketing team

    Regional Strategy Alignment

    • Apply regional media playbooks to local market plans, ensuring consistency with EU-wide strategies while adapting for local relevance.

    • Collaborate with the Regional Planning Lead to scale best practices and share learnings across markets.

    Retail Media Support

    • Provide planning and execution support to the EU Retail Media Manager for local retail media campaigns.

    • Ensure retail media plans are integrated with broader media strategies and reflect local retail priorities.

    Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

    • Collaborate closely with the wider EU Scaled Engine team to ensure seamless integration of localized media plans across media and retail.

    • Partner with local shopper and commercial teams to support the planning and execution of localized retail media campaigns, ensuring alignment with shopper insights and retail priorities.

    • Develop strong relationships with the wider marketing team to ensure media plans are addressing the local strategic proposition.

    • Collaborate with the broader team and central PHD team to ensure all local media plans are structured to deliver against global sufficiency & progressive targets, driving effective reach and impact across local campaigns.

    Financial

    • Own overall campaign budget management, ensuring accurate allocation, tracking, and reconciliation across activities.

    • Lead the financial process with agencies, including PO creation and tracking, to ensure smooth and accurate budget management.

    Experience / skills required:

    • 5-7+ years of experience of media planning & buying across all channels; with a minimum of 3 years in a digitally focused role

    • Strong understanding of the French media landscape, including key platforms, dark market implications, publishers, and audience behaviors.

    • Prior experience working across alcohol brands within the media industry is essential with a deep understanding of Loi Evin

    • Experience working within a regional or global media framework, applying central strategies to local execution.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable media strategies.

    • Familiarity with media planning tools and platforms.

    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.

    • Fluency in English and French
