CFD / Capacity Engineer Senior Associate
Job Summary
CFD engineers use software platforms (6Sigma) to create digital representations of real-world problems. They then run simulations on these models to predict how different variables will affect outcomes. This allows them to test new designs or identify areas for improvement before they are ever built.
Responsibilities
Simulations of single and multi-storey complex data centres
Modelling different scenarios or changes and seeing how they affect the cooling effectiveness under normal working conditions and during failure scenarios
CFD Modelling of high- and low-density cabinets, under-floor ventilation systems, racks, servers, PDU's, CRAC's, fans and diffusers
Prepare technical reports, specifications, detailed briefs
Liaise with the Mechanical and PH Engineers and ensure an integrated solution is adopted
Contribute to project and client meetings
Promote machine learning and automation wherever possible
You'll enjoy working on large scale and also hyperscale (ie 5,000 servers or 10,000 square feet) and use your passion for Building Physics and CFD to your full potential.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
CFD knowledge ideally 6-Sigma
Reporting knowledge (Excel, desired Power-Bi, ideally: Tableau)
Technical Writer skills desired
Analytical Background
