    Cross-Functional Director, Operations

    Job Summary

    The Cross Functional Director, Operations leads, develops and mentors the national cross-functional team of engineering, maintenance standards, training, support staff and budget management personnel, whilst supporting the Data Center Operations site teams to maintain the industry's highest standards and availability. The ideal candidate will be values centered, passionate about collaborating and leading by example, crafting an enjoyable work environment and developing teams to maintain Equinix's standards, all whilst doing everything possible to protect Equinix's customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads the cross-functional team of subject matter experts and managers

    • Provides strategic mentorship and direction to drive operational excellence

    • Manages budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center

    • Leads the teams to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPI's and SLA's

    • Supports the data center site teams working safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance

    • Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete

    • Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure

    • Reviews and approves Change Management requests and Method of Procedures (MOPs, scripts and permits)

    • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during complex or severe customer-impacting incidents

    • Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction

    • Makes recommendations for incident resolution

    • Risk, dark fibre, vendor and contract management

    Qualifications

    • With a proven track record of over 15 years in Critical Environments requiring 100% availability, coupled with over 10 years of leadership/management positions

    • Degree in Engineering or related industry field or relevant certifications and experience

    • Deep understanding of Data Center infrastructure or related critical environments

    • Dedication to delivering a phenomenal customer experience

    • Effective presentation skill

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Overtly collaborative and team-oriented approach for accomplishing complex goals

    • Demonstrated ability to consistently lead (any function) through uncertain and ambitious times
