    Director, Platform Operations

    Job Summary

    The Director of IT Platform Operations is responsible for provisioning, management and operations of various IT services including their software, systems and processes, which includes ITSM processes like release, change, incident and problem management. You are also responsible for developing, managing and operating various platform and application technologies that are part of the IT enterprise software stack. A successful candidate will also lead and drive transformation and optimization of all areas for infrastructure-as-code, automation, self-healing, devops, 360 observability and other modernization goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and prioritize the roadmap and technical strategy for platform technologies and process areas in assigned domains

    • Own, modernize and operate ITSM frameworks and tools for IT's release, incident, change and problem management practices to achieve operational goals

    • Provision, optimize and operate various platform and applications technologies for IT business needs

    • Identify and achieve KPI metrics in responsibility areas for reliability, availability, scalability and performance

    • Provide domain vision, expertise, oversight, guidance and support to set, drive and achieve transformation in all responsible areas

    • Own and manage projects, budgeting, resource planning and tracking ensuring alignment with organizational objectives

    • Collaborate closely with product, business and engineering stakeholders to manage and achieve team and organization goals

    • Lead, mentor and inspire a talented, globally distributed 24x7x365 team fostering a culture of continuous innovation and excellence

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Computer science, Information Technology or equivalent experience

    • 15+ years of experience in engineering/technical roles for applications software operations in large-scale enterprise environments providing systems reliability, uptime and availability for internal or external customer services

    • 10+ years of software operations responsibilities with strong technical hands-on proficiency in release and change SDLC management, major incident management, problem management, CI/CD tooling, enterprise apps, SaaS and PaaS offerings, public clouds, SQL databases and k8s/containerized orchestration in modern scalable technical architectures

    • 10+ years of experience building, managing and motivating high performance 24x7x365 global operations teams for platform technologies and ITSM delivery

    • Extensive domain experience with reliability operations, observability solutions, automation tools and process innovation

    • Strong experience solutioning, planning and implementing agile technical and process improvements for modern production application software and infrastructure. Proven ability to initiate and drive transformation through a hands-on approach including automation and tooling, working with direct and dotted line cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to both technical engineering and executive audiences. Ability to work remotely after hours and on weekends when required and/or necessary

    The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

    • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $179,000 to $304,000 per year

    Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

    This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

    The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
