    Role Description

    The Managing Director supports the execution of enterprise and regional strategies at the country level, considering country-specific opportunities and risks. This includes partnering with various departments to implement growth strategies, develop metro plans, and support xScale ramp-up. The Managing Director builds strong relationships with government and regulatory bodies, as well as industry relationships, to protect Equinix's reputation and influencing policy areas. Implements power/energy strategies, utilizing market knowledge, serving as an executive sponsor for key customers, promoting a culture of inclusion and innovation, overseeing crisis management, and championing the localized enablement of Equinix's operating system.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and Enable Plan: Enable and support execution of enterprise and regional strategy in country, ensuring opportunities and risks at the country level are considered in overall enterprise strategy.

    • Growth and expansion: Partner with Corporate Development / Commercial Finance / Sales to implement the enterprise and regional growth strategy in country, including partnership on M&A, expansion investments. Lead development of a 1-3-year metro strategy plan for each metro. Proactively support the xScale ramp up in local market, engaging across stakeholder groups, to accelerate delivery of xScale builds and capture customer demands.

    • Government and regulatory affairs: Build and maintain strong relationships with government / regulatory bodies and industry relationships that protect Equinix's reputation and accelerate momentum. Identify the top policy areas of focus by country and seek to influence. Seek strategic speaking opportunities, media and analyst interviews that position Equinix favorably.

    • Power and energy leadership: Lead implementation of Operations' power/energy strategy at local level, as tied to Equinix global and regional strategy, including navigating governmental/regulatory affairs, market sentiment, and developing local relationships with power/energy companies, consortiums.

    • Market expertise: Utilize market knowledge in cloud technology, sustainability, and software to drive Equinix's market position.

    • Executive sponsorship and customer engagement: Serve as an executive sponsor for key regional customers, fostering long-term strategic relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction and growth. Lead by example in building partnerships and engaging with the business community to enhance Equinix's market presence.

    • Escalation and crisis management: Oversee escalation response and crisis management for country, maintaining organizational and reputational resilience.

    • Enterprise operating system enablement: Champion localized enablement of Equinix's operating system (i.e., Rhythm of the business).

    Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

    • Demonstrate strategic leadership experience in the technology sector, with a strong ability to drive vision and operational excellence.

    • Deep industry knowledge in cloud, technology, sustainability and software.

    • Expert knowledge of local market.

    • Strategic foresight in driving business growth, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, market expansions, and customer engagement.

    • Passion for engaging communities to develop long-term strategic relationships to bring new opportunities by building new data centers, technology hubs in the country.

    • Ability to engage customers, build long-term strategic relations and sponsor unique partnerships.

    • Proven ability to build followership across peers while fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.

    • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with proven experience of executive speaking and representation of company vision. Demonstrates track record of influence with C-suite executives, public policy leaders, and industry influencers.

    United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 223,000 - 335,000 USD / Annual

    United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 202,000 - 304,000 USD / Annual

    Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

    The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
