The primary focus of the role is Program management of the wider design & construction & commercial functions as it relates to the approval of major expansion construction projects throughout the AP Region. An ability and proven experience to communicate effectively, form partnerships, influence and drive stakeholder (both internal and external) engagement is a key requirement for this position, as is the ability to work collaboratively across time zones, geographic locations and cultural nuances.
This is a newly created role in an exciting time of growth for Equinix throughout APAC, and we are looking to interview from Monday August 18th, with applications closing Friday August 29th.
Key responsibilities:
In the position you will report into the Project and Program Director based in Melbourne, and support the Global Design & Construction team to perform as an industry-leading function.
You will take the lead role in:
Work with Construction Managers, Design Managers, Commercial Manager to ensure alignment and to find creative ways to optimize the projects, and helping coach/train the teams for efficient approval process.
Support due diligence and site selection and acquisition efforts, as well as the preparation of key deliverables for presentation to senior management as part of business case approval.
Conduct project schedule reviews with construction managers and senior management.
Assist continuous improvement initiatives and develop best practices, including:
Assist training and development of in-house teams on project management mechanisms and best practices.
Report status, successes, challenges and key activities to senior management.
Qualifications, keys skills & attributes:
Bachelors degree in construction, engineering, business, financial or related field.
7+ years experience of project delivery, preferably in data center development, with design and Construction experience preferred.
Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinate with internal staff and external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders. Those with regional experience will be highly regarded
Detail orientated, with accurate input and proof-reading skills, and an ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Possess a strong business acumen and commercial outlook, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
A strong sense of accountability, ownership and urgency.
Must have strong IT skills, particularly with PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project/Primavera or equivalent
Ability to travel within APAC as needed and at times
