    Job Summary

    Technical deployment management resource focused on the physical implementation of all customer cage deployments. TDAs plan, monitor, and manage project implementations from initiation through completion, including the oversight and coordination with vendors. They deliver project implementations on time according to customers' specifications, meeting customers' and Equinix's quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    Project and Program Management

    • Ownership of the technical implementation of the deployment​

    • Develops project implementation plans/task lists for deployments, leads internal project kick-off

    • Organized and proactive collaborator able to interpret, translate, and communicate technical details to cross-functional stakeholders​

    • Responsible for scope understanding and ownership of the technical implementation of the deployment, to include vendors and internal installation teams​

    • Manages, monitors, and executes planned activities of the internal technical team, cross-functional group,s and Customer Operations team in the Equinix business systems (i.e., Siebel fulfillment) to ensure project milestones and commitments are met​

    • Liaises with CPM to facilitate smooth service delivery and ensure provisioned services meet and exceed customers' expectations​

    • Responsible for support, data collection, and metrics analysis​, manages initiatives to ensure accuracy and installed base data integrity​

    • Conducts final walk-through at the end of the project​

    Design validation and troubleshooting

    • Possesses deep technical knowledge of all Equinix products/ processes with experience in the Data Center data center environment​

    • Responsible for leading the feasibility review of design packages, validating customer order requirements against scope and the Equinix process, and proposing alternative solutions as required​

    • Offers solutions cross-functionally to resolve customers' non-standard order requirements​

    • Responsible for managing implementation-related customer escalations

    Implementation and Delivery

    • Plans, develops, and delivers intermediate-scale customer implementations, in a moderate scope

    • Schedule implementation meetings with cross-functional groups

    • Monitors and ensures the timely closure of operational activities, by submitting accurate information to the company's business system tools

    Cross-Functional, Support & Communications

    • Investigates and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve moderate issues during project implementation

    • Maintains regular communication with functional and cross-functional teams throughout the implementation.

    • Handles the escalations, investigates, and resolves the issues with close guidance from senior team members or/manager.

    • Communicates with cross-functional groups on project plans and implementation progress for small to medium-scale projects.

    Process Support/Optimization

    • Reviews business and/or technical processes (e.g., provisioning lead time, and effectiveness) within the Data Center and identifies opportunities for process improvements within a moderate scope.

    Systems Support

    • Provides intermediate system-level support for Data Center operations systems through determining a course of action based on guidelines, and modifies processes and methods as required

    • Partner with the operations team members to find solutions

    Data Support/Analysis

    • Ensures that operations provisioning data is accurately input into Equinix business systems tools

    • Collaborates with own team and operations team(s) to investigate and perform physical audit tasks

    Vendor Management

    • Acts as a point of contact for vendors on deployment-specific questions/concerns​

    • Consults with Sales Engineering and Category Managers to review third-party vendor quotes, and negotiates delivery lead times on services and materials​

    • Coordinates onsite efforts with vendors and submits and manages PR/PO requests, as appropriate​

    • Responsible for staying abreast of vendor work status and communicating updates to CPM

    Qualifications

    • Typically requires a minimum of proven years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

    • Knowledge of Data Center infrastructure, including facilities and operations

    • Strong Project Management skills, including large-scale customer implementations

    • Experienced in engaging with vendors

    • Customer-focused mindset

    • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to key stakeholders

    • Ability to analyse metrics to identify Data Center Operations system and process issues, propose solutions, and work with Regional Operations for the implementation of solutions

    • The ability to identify implementation risks, analyse solutions, and execute with a high sense of urgency
