The Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineering Supervisor will lead and deliver quality assurance for our software products in the Federal Reserve System technology platform and products. You will be an important part of our technology team, assuring the quality of innovative solutions for multiple applications and technology platforms across the enterprise. In this hands-on role, you lead a QA team working with multiple Product Teams and manage the engagements focused on delivering high-quality software capabilities. You will manage relationships and client engagements working with customer leaders, Scrum Masters/Release Train Engineers, and Product Owners. Your direct reports will be comprised of QA Engineers and SDETs involved with all types of testing, including automation, performance, manual/exploratory, and data/database validation based on the supervisor role specified above.
You will personally contribute to and support the QA Engineers for the testing approach/strategy for the Product Teams of the engagements assigned. You will also contribute to the design and development of our testing platform/services and strengthen technology practice through use of industry-leading techniques and technologies, while developing your and the QA Engineers skills. Experience with hands-on testing, test automation and test planning/management is required.

They will partner with SQA Supervisors to streamline operational procedures across SQA, communicating changes and providing metrics demonstrating value. This includes providing an annual roadmap for initiatives, supporting documentation and implementation training. The Operations Supervisor will collaborate closely with all engagement managers to standardize the approach and drive consistent delivery of services. The candidate will partner with the Marketing focused Supervisor on opportunities converting into new engagements and document all procedures for onboarding new engagements. The candidate will lead a team of engineers using a variety of tools for test automation (such as Java, Selenium, Cypress, ACCELQ, JMeter) and source code management products like GitLab, TFS/Azure DevOps, GIT and Subversion.

This Job Description is for the Information Technology Job Family and could include anyone within the ITS department that performs these tasks. You have knowledge of and be able to perform actions that are related to activities in the designated business line. The Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineering Supervisor oversees a team of technology professionals by leading and directing operations activities with the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) services function. Ensure expert solutions and customer service for SQA services are provided and completed within customer expectations and per established procedures. Ensure team members work together within established customer service and service level guidelines. Ensure processes exist for operationalizing best practices and provide coaching. Lead engagements, including assigning product team members, coordinating their activities, and evaluating their work. Ensure the System IT, Customer Product Teams' and Bank priorities are incorporated into the long-term requirements of SQA Services operations. The level of work required is considered advanced. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Have full operational knowledge of all phases of testing and can work independently at the highest level of complexity related to quality assurance. Direct and reviews work of lower-level personnel and lead large and complex systems. Have deep understanding of one or more FRS system testing platforms.
What You Will Do:
Lead, directs, and supervises the daily actions of the SQA Services staff allocated to specific customer(s)/product team(s).
Establish, monitor, and mentor/coach team members on progress with development plans and performance objectives for both their career and the organization's goals.
Workforce planning aligned with customer product roadmaps, team member capability and skills anticipated/required in new technology areas deemed relevant.
Establish the team of technology professionals; interviews, recommends, hires, trains, and appraise performance of your team; recommend salary actions; reviews work of staff.
Communicate standards and expectations to team members. Collaborate with SQA product squad(s) for improvement and incorporation of best practices.
Recognize the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
Manage customer expectations and relationship and QA Engineer resource(s) assigned for one or more customers and product teams.
Manage engagements from estimation through post completion, including development of SOW, capacity management and SQA resource allocations, tracking of funding and managing customer expectations. Continue to build relationships with the customers and incorporate feedback to the SQA engagement management process and artifacts.
Project manage the resources; allocate, monitor work/progress and solicit feedback of the SQA resources assigned to incorporate functional and system level test strategies/plans, designs, develops and executes test plans in a multi-tiered on-prem and cloud environments manually and by coordinating the use of modern frameworks and other industry tools approved for use at FRS as applicable.
Collaborate with SQA Services experts/groups and coordinates with product teams to provide leadership and guidance to junior QA Engineers and key SMEs such as the Product Owner, System Architect, and SCRUM Master to plan/develop the test strategy/approach for scalable/risk-based test coverage, inculcating the development of testing framework and execution of scripts/scenarios and mining/creation of custom and applicable testing data.
Participate on Bank, department, or system projects of higher complexity. Demonstrate Core Competency skills for grade and position.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Involved in the accomplishment of departmental and Bank wide quality initiatives.

Minimum of 7 years of managing testing, engagements, or project management.
CTFL and SAFe Certifications are preferred.
Previous supervisor experience is desired.
