    Position summary

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the SaaS Group in our Cork office.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design, develop, build, and maintain the infrastructure of our applications. You will keep our systems healthy and operational which will require monitoring, scaling and optimizing the architecture and infrastructure of our SaaS products. We are building new products and adding to existing ones, in a fast-paced, dynamic and agile environment. As part of this role, you'll work with the developers from early stages of design to affect the outcome of stable, supportable and cost-effective cloud services. In addition to working with the engineers on the team, you will also work closely with peers from cloud operations, QA, and other product teams.

You'll write code, move things around, optimize processes, etc. - and along the way, make everything and everyone around you, better. The best people for this are those that would prefer to spend 4 hrs writing a script just so that they don't need to click on a GUI console daily. At the same time you will also ensure meticulous documentation is created and maintained.

A proactive can-do attitude is a must! We're looking for someone that likes to be challenged daily.

    What will you do?

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and deploy changes to existing and new software.

    • Identify manual processes that can be automated to improve efficiency.

    • Maintain and enhance the products cloud infrastructure on AWS.

    • Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain cloud-based production systems.

    • Troubleshoot system issues across various application domains and platforms.

    • Implement best practices to optimize our security posture.

    • Design and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring.

    • Maintain a high standard of documentation of all processes.

    • Improve CI/CD tools and processes.

    • Design and implement infrastructure services in co-operation with other functional teams

What experience or knowledge should you bring?

    • At least 3 year's experience as a DevOps Engineer

    • Knowledge in SAAS and Serverless architecture on AWS

    • Experience in building CI/CD (Jenkins Pipelines) and Groovy

    • Linux proficiency as a sysadmin

    • Good understanding of networking: TCP/IP, ssh, HTTP/HTTPS

    • Scripting skills: Bash/Shell and ideally, Python

    • Experience with Terraform

    • Experience with Git and familiarity with one or more of GitHub, Gitlab

    • Experience with various DB technologies such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL etc.

    • Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker Orchestration tools

    • Monitoring tools (Grafana, Promethues, CloudWatch)

    • A good understanding of FinOps.
