    Position summary

    lysis tools, and/or developing state-of-the-art combustion dynamics models.

    • Develop combustion dynamics mitigation techniques for robust dynamics reduction.

    • Develop ideas and concepts, and mature technologies through various readiness levels (TRL), to improve combustor aerothermal performance

    • Lead and Deliver on technical projects meeting schedules and budgets, implement plans with minimal guidance to meet technical requirements and document results

    • Participate in a global team on multi-generation technology programs to enable future design advancements, while independently executing tasks leveraging your technical skills

    • Network and collaborate with GE Aerospace Business and Research team members to build plans and execute on technical projects

    Required Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Combustion, with 5-8 years of experience in industrial research or post-doctoral research OR M.S/M.Tech in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering specializing in Combustion, with at least 8-10 years of industrial research experience

    • Fundamental knowledge in gas turbine combustion, evidenced by advanced graduate coursework and research

    • Knowledge of combustion, acoustics, thermodynamics, hydrodynamics, and combustion chemistry.

    • Knowledge of state-of-the-art combustion dynamics modeling techniques.

    • Fluency with Matlab, Python, and COMSOL.

    • Experience with post-processing computational and/or experimental data.

    • Background in advanced mathematics (numerical methods, pde/ode, etc.)

    • Experience with LES using commercial software (FLUENT, CFX) or in-house code development; especially handling large datasets, and associated post-processing to provide physics-based insights to guide design

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, while working independently and in a team environment

    Desired Characteristics

    • Design experience in combustor aerodynamics, heat transfer and thermos-acoustics, at various levels of fidelity

    • Experience in Combustion Dynamics CFD and Modeling

    • Expertise in UG-NX, FLUENT Mesher & complex mesh generation

    • Advanced CAD & CFD skills and owning processes "start-to-finish" (geometry manipulation, mesh generation, post-processing, and optimization studies to provide physics-based insights to guide design)

    • Application of Machine Learning for Combustion, High-performance computing, Experience w. GPUs

    • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
