Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Owning the functional interface between aircraft engine/gas turbine rotating (blades, disks) and stationary (casings, vanes) engine components.
Execute the building of detailed analytical models of the engine modules and the full engine from a multi-physics perspective, to enable design assessment, calculation of relative displacements, and to assist in clearance related problem solving and test data interpretation for tech maturation, new and fielded products
Interface with engine performance, missions, model, module and component owners, thermal systems management, and stress analysis focal to work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Work with mechanical component hardware owners, module owners and engine platform model leaders to ensure addressing the overall engine clearance requirements.
Participate Field Investigation TOPS8D or any other RCA type of investigations as the clearances function owner
Troubleshooting engine clearance related operation in fielded gas turbine or in a test engine.
Document lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement
Right size design efforts via working closely with CEO to meet tight deadlines while satisfying key requirements
Contribute and adhere to daily management routine, standard work activities and work aligned with KPIs
Develop a project plan establishing work packages, milestones, objectives in accordance with program schedule, manage deliverables according to the up-to-date plan
Requirements:
MSc/BSc in in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or similar) from an accredited university
At least 5 years experience relevant to clearances areas of expertise and knowledge of related disciplines (basic aero, compressor & turbine airfoils design, mechanical design, thermal system, performance)
Fundamental understanding of the design GD&T, test and analysis tools relevant to the function.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in engine test and certification due to FAA&EASA requirements will be an asset
