    Position summary

    require in order to provide the proper environment to maintain their productivity at the highest level. You may also be leveraged to assist with revision, review and/or create maintenance procedures and work plans in collaboration with engineers and management. You would be responsible to execute these work plans and appropriately document within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This role may be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors and service providers. Internal Title is Facilities Engineer 2.

    Responsibilities:

    • The ability to take direction and ensure work orders are tracked, completed, and closed in an effective and efficient manner.
    • The ability to troubleshoot equipment, work effectively with hand tools, and repair mechanical equipment.
    • Record operating parameters and maintain the logs and records of facilities, utility, and life safety equipment per procedure.
    • Perform required preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance as assigned.
    • Responsible for the accuracy of all documentation of work performed and supporting documentation within Ginkgo's CMMS system.
    • Communicates and works with internal stakeholders and external vendors for scheduling that minimizes impact to on-going business operations.
    • The ability to work collaboratively with Engineers and Management to ensure key metrics are met and sustained.
    • Establish strong relationships and communication with internal stakeholders and external service contractors to ensure smooth consistent delivery of the high-quality of services expected.
    • Support and participate in the evaluations during equipment failure to drive root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions.
    • Proactively provides methods/solutions to enhance equipment and utility service reliability and operational efficiency.
    • Provide oversight of service vendors related to on-site repairs, maintenance and installation to ensure the activity remains safe, effective and meets the intent of the scope of work design.
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement and energy sustainability while using sound judgment and collaborative methods in order to drive annual and long-term operating plan objectives.
    • Participate in on-call program and provide off-hours coverage for unplanned outages and equipment failures.
    • Maintain a professional, courteous, respectful relationship with internal cross-functional customers; maintain a positive feedback/customer satisfaction rating
    • Maintains required training to ensure compliance.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree with 2 years related experience; licensed trade with 2 years experience or 6 years equivalent experience with facilities-related operations in the biotech, research and development, or pharmaceutical industry.
    • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to maintenance.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Ability to work off-hours and weekends when needed.
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills, adaptability, and an ability to work under pressure
