    The Director of Electrification Communications will play a pivotal role in helping tell GM's end-to-end EV (Electric Vehicle) technology story with a particular focus on battery technology and innovation. This is a remarkable opportunity to help position GM and our efforts to electrify from the ground up, collaborating closely with experts and industry leaders that are driving towards the next hundred years of success.

    What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

    This role will also be responsible for managing communications and leading media relations related to:

    • GM's battery technology journey from inception to development and industrialization

    • GM's Ultium Platform, a proprietary electric vehicle architecture and propulsion system including batteries, Ultium Drive units, EV motors and power electronics.

    • Exploration and investment in new electrification technologies

    • Facilities related to battery research and development.

    Additional Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

    • Experience managing communications related to new or industry-changing technologies.

    • Demonstrated ability to deliver strong results while expanding media and analysts' audiences.

    • Proven media and analyst relationships across tech, auto or transportation, business, and more.

    • Bachelor's degree accredited college or university in any field.

    • Experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including lawyers, public affairs staff, engineers, chemists, infrastructure architects, marketers, and executives.

    • Direct experience acting as communications counsel or a strategic advisor to executive level leadership.

    • Willingness and ability to travel.

    • Passion for technology and innovation.

    • A belief that diversity, equity and inclusion are not just "nice to have" but fundamental prerequisites.

    What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

    • Ability to be both a great leader that inspires and collaborator.

    • Experience working at a startup, new market company, or new technology initiative is a plus.

    • Experience or knowledge of battery fuel-cell technology.

    A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

    Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

    • The salary range for this role $108,400 to $169,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
