    Position summary

    ify and implement process improvements, including automation and streamlining workflows, to meet the evolving needs of service professionals. Key responsibilities include collaborating across organizations to ensure service readiness for vehicle launches, managing timelines and risks, addressing programming and diagnostic issues in customer vehicles, and fostering a high-performing team by setting clear goals and removing obstacles. This is an opportunity to shape the future of service diagnostics and support excellence in vehicle serviceability.

    • This is a manager position, responsible to lead a larger team of Service Information Developers and modernization of Diagnostic and Electrical Service Information within the Service Diagnostics and Programming team.

    • This team leads integration of service diagnostic and programming instructions for General Motors globally focused on first time quality of repair, diagnosis, and programming in the service environment.

    • The workload for this team has increased significantly in recent years as software complexity and rate of change has increased dramatically for customer vehicles.

    • This manager will need to look for opportunities to streamline processes by automating processes and eliminating handoffs or redundancies across the company to meet the needs of technicians and service professionals.

    Responsibilities

    • This manager is responsible for collaborating with peers in various organizations to ensure programming and diagnostic serviceability first time quality on upcoming, new, and legacy programs.

    • They will define critical timelines for new and major launches and balance workload and risk across the team to meet those deliverables.

    • They will ensure service readiness leading up to ship to commerce through analysis, testing and resolution of issues.

    • This manager will monitor and drive resolution of programming and diagnostic issues in customer vehicles.

    • The manager for this team is responsible for setting the goals, vision and eliminating roadblocks for a high performing team.

    Additional Description

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other degree with relevant experience

    • Minimum 8 years of experience within automotive diagnostic, programming, software, controls, or related areas

    • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills, especially where problems are unusual and ambiguous

    • Proven results on large or complex project by managing and measuring work through metrics, data, and results with autonomy and accountability

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in a related field

    • Leadership experience of teams of engineers responsible for developing and testing software

    • Experience supporting dealerships or independent aftermarket service professionals

    • Experience with vehicle electrical architecture requirements or design

    • Understanding of the software release process

    • Controls integration or calibration experience

    • DFSS Black Belt Certification

    Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

    • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $143,200 - $219,400 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
