Area of responsibility includes entire manufacturing site engineering and technical support groups. Engine and transmission machining and assembly processes.
This work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS (Global Manufacturing Systems) and standardized launch processes; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the ability to deal with complex problems and may supervise salaried employees involved in plant support operations in addition to the following:
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
will support the execution of business plans for the manufacturing operations
Responsible for providing support to manufacturing operations to help them achieve BPD plans and KPI objectives
Participate in the selection of new employees
Train, develop and evaluate employees
Establish overall group objectives
Evaluate processes and procedures within area
Establish and oversee required tooling activities or review and evaluate proposals for existing and new manufacturing processes including funding requests such as ARs, NPPs and MBCs
Develop long-range plans for improvements of processes and manufacturing activities
Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
Provide technical assistance to maintain manufacturing performance
Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards
Maintain Corporate and unit management control systems
Management of budget and sufficiency activities
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor Degree in Engineering required
7 yrs experience in engineering management
10% local travel
Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
Practical Problem Solving, Conflict Management
QDAS, SAP, GMS, PFMEA, Maintenance Toolbox/PM&C
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Strong problem solving/decision making skills
Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to track, develop, and interpret metrics.

Plant Floor Management (PFCM) preferred
Global Read Across Tool (GRAT) preferred
Critical Communication Tracking System (CCTS), ACAP preferred
Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
