What You'll Do
-Responsible for managing a team of accounting and finance professionals who handle day-to-day finance & accounting activities and migration of these activities into the area from various organizations (business units, other GBS sites, etc.)
Responsible for managing the execution of:
Review and approval of Journal Entries and reporting as per US GAAP and Local GAAP, as necessary
Review and approval of account reconciliations and ensure timely completion, with variances resolved appropriately
Quarterly/Annual closing as per US GAAP
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy, and direct investigation to ensure integrity of financial information in the general ledger including:
Understanding the flow of information between local SAP and S4 global ledger's product costing
Understanding trade flow
Lead analysis, insights, and recommendations to ensure financial transactions are complete, accurate and consistent with US GAAP, Local Requirements and GM Policies
Understands, promotes and documents an environment of effective controls within team and ensure team members understand company and regulatory requirements (i.e. SOX, record retention, audit, etc.) and are continually verifying all their actions and processes for compliance
Support internal and external audits
Interact with internal/external stakeholders (impacted Business Units, Global Controller's Team, Global Finance Teams, Auditors, etc.) and be responsible for monitoring performance and quality metrics
Considered a leader and/or technical expert in areas of responsibilities and can ensure requirements are understood and met by internal and external resources
Bring any suspected issues (accounting or control related) forward immediately and works to quickly find solutions thereto
Strong focus on leading process improvements (including LEAN/OPEX) and automation to drive quality accounting and compliance, including:
Working with the global teams on standardization and process improvement projects
Working effectively across teams
Ability to redefine processes and push for automation as needed
Troubleshooting of accounting issues/systems/processes to identify/develop/ implement process for continuous improvements and ensure delivery of efficient and effective processes
Work on special projects and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
Adept on people leadership such as to:
Train, develop, coach, motivate, and evaluate employees
Develop appropriate employee goal setting/CAP and development linked to specific job function goals, and assist with training, coaching, developing and evaluating employees
Develop and implement improvements to create efficiencies, drive communization, and obtain savings
Timely, consistent, and effective communication of operational and other team matters with PCI Manager
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree with accounting major or similar desired
Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in Accounting
With leadership experience preferred
Experience in implementation, project management/leading, defining and re-engineering a process
SAP knowledge and experience
It is an advantage that the candidate has robust experience in cost & inventory accounting for a manufacturing organization
Physical presence at the office as required by the needs of the team or the organization such as workshops, training & development, office events (Townhalls, All People Meeting, etc.)
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Product Costing and Inventory accounting experience, multinational culture experience
Nice to haves but not required for the role: LEAN or OPEX experience
