LEVEL EXPECTATIONS:

Intermediate level professional, requiring independent judgment and decision-making on significant matters as well as experience and or specialized training typically obtained through a specialized course of academic instruction.

EXPERTISE

• Demonstrates very good understanding of the processes and procedures relevant to own work area with the ability to exercise decision-making skills sufficient to identify and propose solutions to leadership. Understands different areas of their function and how the operations of their area relate to others.
• Identifies and corrects non-routine problems in existing systems and processes through independent judgment. Independently identifies and applies appropriate company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Works under general supervision with limited guidance and direction. Determines an appropriate course of action within broad guidelines and can handle nearly every standard or typical request independently.

• Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

• Applies learned techniques to drive the solution to a problem, which typically will involve coordinating and integrating efforts of a diverse team of colleagues.

SCOPE AND IMPACT

• Handles a range of moderate scope problems that are frequently routine but may vary, requiring analysis of various factors. Follows through on difficult situations and is expected to see through resolution.
• Proposes new initiatives and delivers solutions, driving cross team efforts. Recommends opportunities for process improvement to leadership & proactively anticipates needs within own area.
• Employee's impact is typically within their immediate work area and occasionally across their function.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems in the CAD data space and solve them using Rule based API's and AI methodologies.

• Design, develop, and fine-tune AI/ML models for parametric modeling, assemblies, drafting, and feature-based design.

• Create and maintain reusable CAD-AI libraries, toolkits, and documentation.

• Evaluate, validate, and benchmark model performance using appropriate metrics.

• Deploy AI models into production environments in collaboration with IT/AI teams.

• Establish monitoring and maintenance processes to ensure model accuracy over time.

• Ensure that all AI solutions comply with organizational data security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.

• Document workflows, results, and lessons learned for organizational knowledge sharing.

• Stay updated on advancements in DFM, industry-specific CAD practices, generative design and topology optimization techniques.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor's or Masters Degree Mechanical/Automobile/Production /Mechatronics Engineering discipline or similar.

• 7+ years experience in Core CAD customization at Automotive Domain using NX.

• Should have executed at least 2 end-to-end projects in the CAD AI domain (from problem definition to deployment).

• In-depth knowledge of parametric modeling, assemblies, drafting, and feature-based design.

• Proficiency in C#, Python, C++, or Java for CAD automation.

• Proficiency with CAD APIs (NX) including Data model update

• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Start part and Master Modeling for multiple commodities

• Proficiency in template creation for Model Based Design and associated Add On development

• Experience working with CAD convertors

• Experience in ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).

• Experience with geometry processing, 3D data handling, and feature extraction.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.

• Understanding of data annotation tools and MLOps workflows

• Experience with CICD Deployment

• Experience in domain-specific AI use cases (manufacturing, automotive, etc.).

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with 3D Deep learning techniques (PointNet, MeshCNN, GNNs for geometry).

• Exposure to Generative Design & Topology Optimization (e.g., Autodesk Generative Design, Topology).

• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS).

• Experience linking CAD with CAE/CFD workflows in AI-driven pipelines.

• Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity for AI innovation.

• Ability to translate domain problems into AI solutions.

• Collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

• Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
