    Position summary

    ans and implement appropriate solutions.

    • Support plant-floor equipment installation. Track open issues and countermeasures for controls-related issues, resolve in timely manner to meet project timing.

    • Participate in Risk Assessment activities for new or retooled equipment. Work with process engineers to ensure open issues are resolved.

    • Participate with process team on reviewing and approving electrical and pneumatic equipment designs, ensuring use of GM-approved components and compliance with GM electrical specifications.

    • Review print submissions, document as-built and post-MRO revisions to ensure accuracy of prints loaded to Teamcenter and available at machines.

    • Complete Controls Engineering checklist items on G-Comply at plant. Work with Safety and ME's to resolve open issues to meet project timing.

    • Participate in OEM machine runoffs. Assist process engineers to complete controls-related checklist at OEM runoff. Complete controls-related runoff checklists in plant, capturing OEM issues and facilitate corrective actions to meet project timing.

    • Participate in plant-floor debug after installation and runoff. Track controls-related open issues to resolution.

    • Perform safety validation and coordinate responsibilities with OEM's. Work with ME to develop SOP, TIS and safety validation placards.

    • Coordinate with IT Team, perform network validations & PC-joins.

    • Actively participate in throughput activities (TIP) to achieve launch production ramp plan.

    Additional Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

    • 5+ years of professional controls engineering experience in conjunction with BS in technical discipline or equivalent experience

    • Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC & HMI's or equivalent experience

    • Highly skilled in common assembly controls related topics - machine logic, debug, robots, safety circuits, IT integration, etc.

    What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

    • GM Global Common Controls Architecture experience

    • Knowledge of GM Global Machinery and Equipment Specifications

    • Fanuc robot programming experience

    • Machine vision system experience

    • Laser etching systems experience

    • Proficiency in AutoCad & ePLAN
