Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $93,000.00 to $154,900.00. Anticipated base pay compensation range for remote based out of state candidates is $86,100-$143,500.

Position Details
The payroll manager is responsible to deliver a positive employee experience to approximately 20,000 employees by ensuring a timely and accurate US and Canadian payroll process. The payroll manager is responsible for the payroll team located in the US and the outsourced payroll partner who is responsible to ensure that the North American payroll process meets defined service level agreements and quality targets, and that continuous improvement opportunities are identified and executed as necessary to ensure those targets are achieved and sustained. This position focuses on compliance to internal policies, key controls and government regulations, and creates an environment in which our employees' expectations are anticipated and consistently met. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge and experience in the area of payroll operations and systems including SAP and ADP Payroll, expatriate payroll, payroll controls, vendor management, SOX requirements, SOC1 controls, labor law and tax compliance.
This person will also act as an advisor and partner to both employees and managers ensuring we have a seamless and accurate payroll process, including wages, tax tracking, fringe benefits and bonus/commission payments.
This is a hybrid position and is onsite 2 days a week in Lake Forest. This role can also be remote based for out of state candidates.

You Will:
Ensures the accuracy of payroll preparation and processing, payroll accounting, tax filing and remittance, benefits maintenance, and various special payments
Develops payroll procedures; controls and supervises the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of payroll-related payments
Identifies and implements process improvements
Leads the payroll team in responding to inquiries related to payroll and provides guidance on the prevailing laws governing payroll and income taxes, employee benefits, garnishments, reimbursement policies and other statutory pay and related entitlements
Develops policies and procedures for payroll processes. Works with team and cross-functional partners to improve processes and mitigate risks
Serves as subject matter expert on projects and initiatives including M&A activity
Demonstrates detailed knowledge of system flows to analyze the impact of data integrity issues on company and individual payroll earnings and taxes
Develops key performance indicators to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of payroll delivery processes, and tools
Ensures the smooth integration of payroll processes with other service area processes
Maintain an awareness of marketplace trends and best practices. Provide feedback on revisions or new policies that would better support client business needs.
Lead or support additional projects and assignments across the global HR Services team including global Payroll and global HR Service Center.
You Have:
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience with multiple tax jurisdictions
Canadian payroll experience preferred
SAP and ADP work experience preferred
Ability to effectively supervise team members and work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team
Demonstrated coaching/mentoring skills and issue management problem solving skills
Strong customer service skills
Strong organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues
Strong time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately communicates with all levels of customers from assistants to Sr. Executives
Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clients
Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action
Ability & interest in training other team members
Knowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulations
Prefer Global Payroll experience
HRIS ECP coding is a plus
