    Position summary

    needs for Grainger's North America departments. You will help management navigate automated solutions while driving strategic decision support to financial Services & Treasury, and other departments. You are a partner who must work directly with leaders of each GUS Department and Grainger Enterprise System Teams on topics such as financial analyses and profitability focusing on streamlining/automating processes or analyses, sales growth strategies, productivity, measurements for any department function, and needs that involve systemic solutions.

    You Will

    • Develop visualization tools to support the growth and productivity initiatives in Finance organization through continuous improvement of financial reporting, storytelling and end-user functionality.

    • Coach and mentor cross functional teams on visualization best practices including efficient data modeling, dynamic coding techniques, effective storytelling and optimal report designing.

    • Function as a liaison working with project management, FCI team and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems.

    • Visualization Scoping: Analysis work performed to review the current stated solutions used by stakeholders, to identify productivity gaps, to identify the process improvement areas, and suggest best possible solutions with proof-of-concept research, in addition to configuration development and testing.

    • Develop advanced knowledge of Grainger system available tools for information and reporting design.

    • Ad-Hoc: Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate raw data, and then prepare recommendations to solve ambiguous and complex issues.

    • Collaborate with finance partners and cross functional teams to knowledge share, help define analytic requirements for reports and tools, and then support those teams while they translate requirements into the final visualization tool that drives improved storytelling and productivity.

    • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to proactively identify, recommend, and implement improvements to internal processes and procedures. Simplify, enhance, engineer, and re-engineer basic and complex tools and reporting processes.

    You Have

    • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or equivalent Required

    • 2+ years Working knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, python, Smartsheet, SharePoint Required

    • 3+ years Working Power BI, data modeling, and optimal coding methods(DAX/M Code) Required

    • 5+ years Working with Microsoft Office tools and performing root cause analyses Required

    • Must have an Advanced knowledge of the concepts and be advanced in the use of computerized data management systems and visualization tools including Power BI, Snowflake, Smartsheet and SharePoint development, design and programming (Advanced proficiency)

    • Strong Business, analytical and problem-solving skills (Intermediate proficiency)

    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with field employees and senior leaders of Grainger. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate information requests into practical output results (Intermediate proficiency)

    • Self-directed with accountability to make sound business decisions while demonstrating effective time-management and multi-tasking skills (Intermediate proficiency)

    • Technologically savvy in order to drive effective means of analyzing and reporting critical business information (Intermediate proficiency)

    • Strong change leadership including the ability to coach and consult leaders on the steps necessary to lead change (Intermediate proficiency)
