Griffith Foods is hiring a Mixer Set Up to drive an electric powered industrial forklift and other powered moving equipment (transtacker, pallet jack, etc.) Move products, equipment or materials by performing the following duties:
As a Mixer Operator, your responsibilities will include:
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus along with positioning forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, materials, and transports load to designated area.
Gathering of all staged, oiled, and batched raw materials for the mixers on a timely basis.
Transporting blended products (WIP totes, supersacks, pallets of finished products) to the QA conveyor or to the Packaging Department.
Supply designated operators with materials needed to meet the R/E's and correct WIP totes to the Packaging Lines.
Sorting pallets; transporting good used pallets and broken pallets to the designated areas.
Rotation of premixes on a first in first out basis using manufacturing dates.
Identify "hold" bill of materials and bring them to the Mixing Team Captain on a timely basis.
Safely place WIP totes onto tote stands in an efficient and timely manner and perform daily safety inspections of forklift including recharging forklift batteries
Maintain accurate paper and electronic (D365) records of material and products moved.
Completing the company's Forklift Certification program within 30 days of hire
The Mixer Set Up position may be right for you if you:
Ability to complete company's forklift certification program within first 30 days
Ability to read and write in English. Can comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Strong knowledge of Mixing and/or Packaging operations
Qualified candidates will have:
Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Six-month related experience and/or training
Knowledge of ERP Systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics AX) a plus
Strong hand eye coordination along with attention to detail required

Experience working in the Food and Beverage industry.
Prior forklift experiencer
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will occasionally need to operate and drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.
Environmental Concerns
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Dust and odor present in environment.
