• Participate in relevant department and interdepartmental meetings

• Work closely with various in-house departments including editorial, production, and design to ensure all deadlines are met

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years relevant work experience, preferably in trade publishing; experience with illustrated books a plus

• Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills , with a keen attention to detail

• Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style

• Proficiency with MS Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF markup tools; k nowledge of electronic manuscript styling a plus

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Must be detail- and accuracy-oriented and able to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high standards of quality

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Awareness of current trends in language and evolving industry standards a plus

• Calendar experience a plus

• Fluency in Spanish a plus

This is a hybrid position based in New York City. However, remote candidates will be considered.

The compensation for this position is $53,000-$55,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location - talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
